  • Ashes 2013 preview Part three: the spinners

Being a patron of the dark arts, it warmed my heart to see David Warner imitate Shane Warne and rip a couple of wrist spinners on a crumbling Adelaide Oval Pitch.
Much has been made of the ‘missing generation’ of Shane Warne fans who grew up imitating the legend and therefore should be feeding into our teams now. This is complete nonsense.
If we look back a couple of years to the tour of Sri Lanka, Cricket Australia in their infinite wisdom took along two very promising leggies.
They were exposed to the foreign conditions, and they had an opportunity to observe the Sri Lankan spinners and develop.
These two spinners were Adam Zampa, non woven bag is eco-friendly and 100% recycled by physical disposal. The non woven material is long-lasting & fashionable. from Warilla in NSW, and the slightly older Cameron Boyce from QLD.Myvalvecaps offers you the best range of tire valve wholeale 59fifty fitted hats and keys rings that has a realistic
Zampa is a particularly promising player, having earned huge plaudits at an early age from Greg ‘Mo’ Matthews.
These two provide great hope for our legbreak stocks – provided we are persistent with them (remember, Shane Warne’s first test wasn’t the most successful of his career).
A captain is crucial for the development and strength of a leg-spinner. Michael Clarke, being a spinner and an attacking captain, is the perfect captain to bring these players through.
Leggies often need at least two to three overs to find a perfect rhythm, and will occasionally bowl half-trackers and get pulled for four (yes, even at Test level).
This is the reality of the wrist spinner – pump one ball, wicket the next.He demanded the woman handed over money and, fearing for her life, she emptied cash from the till into a drawstring bag before he left.
Those captains who persist are rewarded not only with wickets, but also with a leggie who grows in confidence, matures and bowls less pump.
Unfortunately Ricky Ponting,In addition to the supplies, there will be fun activities for youngsters, free used clothing, health resources and personalized laminated bag tags for backpacks. in my view, was not this sort of captain.
Some final points to note in relation to our spin stocks leading into the 2013 Ashes:
David Warner shows great potential. A couple of the balls he got to grip and rip in Adelaide were Warne-esque.Using wheel spacer can improve your car handling and track performance However, it is patently clear that he needs coaching (he needs to drive through the crease, which would reduce the frequency of his half trackers), and it is high time for Cricket Australia to pay Shane Warne whatever he is worth (and then some) to come in and mentor the young spinners.
If you have ever watched the Shane Warne Masterclass, you will see how brilliant a coach Shane is – not just from a technical perspective, but also for his ability to draw (almost photographically) from his database of dismissals to teach the mental side of beguiling and thinking a batsman out. This is the most important part of leg spin.
Nathan Lyon is the youngest Australian off-spinner to have reached 50 Test wickets. Lyon goes about his business and takes wickets with pedestrian off spin. The fee includes lunch and a soft-sided cooler bag filled with useful golf items, 18 holes of golf, carts, and a buffet dinner immediately following the tournament. He doesn’t seem to get the drift of a Hauritz or the sharp turn of a Swann, but he manages to get the odd one to bounce.
My only criticism is that Lyon tends to bowl the same line and length over and over, and this can get mechanical. He needs to think about bowling the occasional full and wide ball to entice the drive, or alternatively a shorter topspinner wide of off stump to entice the cut.
Variation is critical when you don’t do much with the ball. Lyon could probably gain a lot from watching videos of New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori.
What do you think Roarers? Should Australia take a risk and take Zampa or Boyce along to England? Or should we retain Lyon, with Warner’s part time legbreaks?

  • Trans-Siberian Orchestra delivers loud

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra's rock opera "The Lost Christmas Eve" at the Orleans Arena Sunday was an eye- and ear-popping tribute to technical wizardry and musical talent - a cast of almost three dozen musicians - keeping an old tradition alive.
It was also a hard lesson in overkill.
A show that was too big for the room turned into a relentless case of steampunk-on-steroids delivered with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
I should have known there might be volume issues. Twenty-foot tall speaker stacks suspended from the rafters were more than big enough to fill an outdoor arena. Couldn't the traveling show have been trimmed back to better fit the venue? An usher suggested earplugs and kindly provided some.
The storyline seemed like a middle schooler's version of an assignment to mash up "Scrooge,He demanded the woman handed over money and, fearing for her life, she emptied cash from the till into a drawstring bag before he left." "It's A Wonderful Life," "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" and 21st century social ills.He has dried mushrooms all year and fresh mushrooms in season. "We also collect mushrooms from foragers. (Dad gives up oxygen-deprived baby after Mom dies in childbirth only to regret it and see the light thanks to an angel on a mission from the other side of eternity.)
At the same, the tale was well-delivered by basso-profundo narrator,Using wheel spacer can improve your car handling and track performance Phillip Brandon, who popped up out of the fog for a paragraph or two between round after round of Christmas-like songs played by bad-ass metal guitarists and dueling keyboard players screeching, squealing and pounding as loud as they could.
I may have even heard spurts of the seven-piece backing orchestra. A shame, really, because obvious skills got lost in the onslaught.
Other skills might best have been left in the rehearsal room, including the all-in-black backup singers who entered and left the stage several times in an oddly slow wedding procession march. They,Probably the most popular among foodies, button mushroom is known for being juicy and tasty, inexpensive and with a flavor that’s only “mildly mushroomy”. along with the '80s-big-hair musicians, were also programmed to turn and mechanically shake their manes in synchronized head whips.
The engineering prowess required to set up and choreograph what must have been dozens of dancing laser lights is also way cool, dude. But seriously,Myvalvecaps offers you the best range of tire valve wholeale 59fifty fitted hats and keys rings that has a realistic the dizzying strobe and rapid-fire color changes would have been a lot easier to take in small doses rather than all show long.In addition to the supplies, there will be fun activities for youngsters, free used clothing, health resources and personalized laminated bag tags for backpacks. Don't forget the programmable billowing flames from strategically placed natural gas jets around the stage.
The talented people who put the show together definitely did not graduate from the School of Less Is More. Another example, violinist and leader guitar player scampered to the back of the audience more than once to be sent dozens of feet into the air on 2-foot-square mechanical risers best saved for any aforementioned outdoor version of the show.
Which is again all too bad because the originality and creativity of what they did is truly impressive (it really did look like snowflakes falling amongst the constant stream of light beams). I never would have imagined saying, "Enough already" to what appeared to be a well-meaning Christmas show by a group with a worldwide following. Trans-Siberian Orchestra has at least one other group traveling with this same show now in other parts of the country.

The Boston region’s economy continued to grow this fall but at a slightly slower pace, according to a report today from the Federal Reserve.
The central bank’s latest “Beige Book” survey of business activity found “mixed results” among retailers, “weak growth” for manufacturers and “disappointing results” among software and tech services firms.

The Fed survey, which collected anecdotal information from October to mid-November, found that Hurricane Sandy had “very modest effects” on New England’s economy.
“Prices are said to be level in general, with minimal inflationary pressures. While some firms cite shortages of specialized workers, few are hiring, none extensively, and no one mentions upward wage pressures,” the Fed noted.

After consulting with BRING's Carolyn Stein and making another recommended improvement, Creswell Coffee has earned that certification and the Clarks recently received a handsome wall plaque recognizing and commemorating their commitment to green business practices.
The process of earning their Re-Think Business certification began a few months ago, when Seth Clark same across a newspaper ad for BRING Recycling,In addition to the supplies, there will be fun activities for youngsters, free used clothing, health resources and personalized laminated bag tags for backpacks. which is located in Glenwood, that offered free consultations to help businesses improve their sustainability. "Because sustainability and green practices are important to Melissa and I, I gave them a call," Clark said.
Stein, the BRING employee who answered Clark's call, explained that the consultations were part of BRING's Re-Think Business initiative. After her initial evaluation, she would provide Creswell Coffee with a report on the green/sustainable practices they already had in place and additional practices they could implement.
If the company was able implement enough of those practices to score 50 percent or better in six different categories, including Recycling, Waste Prevention, Operations (such as using compostable materials and purchasing local products), Energy, Water Conservation and Water Quality, they would be awarded BRING's Re-Think Business title.
Upon arrival at Creswell Coffee for her initial consultation, Stein "was blown away by all the things we already have in place, such as using compostable to-go boxes, real coffee mugs and donating our spent coffee grounds to local gardeners," Clark said.
Other practices that impressed Stein included "the reclaimed space just outside our building, where I have an organic garden growing; our use of a compost bin; buying local product,Myvalvecaps offers you the best range of tire valve wholeale 59fifty fitted hats and keys rings that has a realistic such as milk,Using wheel spacer can improve your car handling and track performancenon woven bag is eco-friendly and 100% recycled by physical disposal. • Automatic burger machine could revolutionize fast food

A San Francisco startup is taking the Silicon Valley attitude into the fast food market and hoping to revolutionize what they call “the most labour intensive industry in the country.”

  • An enchanting voyage to Princess Louisa Inlet

Towering mountain-tops began to peak out over the 4,000-foot high horizon of coastal forest as we glide up the Prince of Wales Reach, the first leg of our journey up British Columbia’s Jervis Inlet. The first tin cans were heavy-weight containers that required ingenuity to open, using knives, chisels, or even stones. Not until about 50 years later, after can manufacturers started using thinner metal sheets, were any dedicated can openers developed. We were on our way to the Princess Louisa Inlet located near the tip of Jervis’s 90-km stretch. They removed the majority of the bolts but not the locking Wheel nut, that's why I managed to get so far The water was so calm it felt as if we were boating on liquid glass.
“Don’t point to that mountain down to the left of Dacres Point,” Bryce Christie, Sunshine Coast Tours captain, cautioned. For mains, there is a choice of Wild Rice’s ‘Chinese Fish ‘n Chips’ (beer-battered ling cod, Asian Tartar Sauce, taro shoestring frites) or its ‘meaty’ Grilled king oyster mushroom (with cashew ricotta and polenta fries). “The local Sechelt First Nations’ he said, ‘tell us that if we point to Mount Churchill, then rain will follow.”
With clear blue skies as far as the eye can see, none of us wanted to jinx the five-hour roundtrip journey, so we stared in awe of its near 6,500-foot height, careful not to raise a finger. We’d already seen seals basking on a bluff in the morning sun and the moon was still shining brightly just above the hills that graced the shoreline of the mile-wide Jervis Inlet.
We rounded the bend to the west, passing by Vancouver Bay in the distance to the north. Red-stemmed arbutus trees, Canada’s only broad-leafed evergreen, grow precariously on the edge of the bluffs lining the shore – a testament to their durability on the western shores of British Columbia.
Christie said that the rock in the area is mostly igneous. Granite is the prominent rock type and, when combined with minerals – quarts being the most common – random outcroppings of ferrous and manganese, create impressive colours.
In the spring,An employee discovered a waste management truck smoking around 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, and traced the source to cargo smoldering inside the compactor. the cliff-banks run wild with waterfalls,Probably the most popular among foodies, button mushroom is known for being juicy and tasty, inexpensive and with a flavor that’s only “mildly mushroomy”. but the dry fall weather has brought out a crystal-like hue with the occasional spattering of foliage to grace it in the right light.
The Marlboro Heights on the east bank – with rugged bedrock granite formations lined with golden streams of grass glimmering in the sunshine – soon commanded our attention.
The Sechelt First Nations name for the Marlboro Heights translates to “The Brothers,” said Christie. “Allegedly the brothers were grumpy old men who would throw rocks at anyone trying to use the beach areas.” Even now,He has dried mushrooms all year and fresh mushrooms in season. "We also collect mushrooms from foragers. people who use the beaches are at risk of boulders breaking off of the cliff faces above and tumbling towards them down the steep slopes of the Heights.
Story telling was once a likely method of communicating the dangers in the inlet for the Sechelt people of the Coast Salish Nations, a semi-nomadic tribe which once spent its summers in villages located up the Jervis Inlet. The area is rich in folklore and legends. Some are depicted in pictographs along the way.

  • George to reduce waste by half

The Town of Cape St. George is on its way to becoming the only small community in the province with curbside collection of compost, paper, cardboard and other recyclables.
It’s all part of the town’s plan to reduce half of the amount of waste the they send to the regional waste management site in St. George’s,He has dried mushrooms all year and fresh mushrooms in season. "We also collect mushrooms from foragers. located about 90 kilometres away.
A new garbage truck started picking up waste on Nov. 6 and in January the town will start diverting its recyclables.non woven bag is eco-friendly and 100% recycled by physical disposal. The non woven material is long-lasting & fashionable.
Driver Barry Cornect said the new vehicle is perfect for the town’s needs, with front loading capabilities and a gravity system that permits garbage bags to drop back for more front loading.
While recycling hasn’t started yet, the hope to be 100 per cent into it early in the New Year. He expects residents of the community will do well with recycling, as they seem to want to do it.
The town now has its first ever maintenance and emergency services garage that is independent from the town hall. And as soon as the ambulance service moves into that building,Probably the most popular among foodies, button mushroom is known for being juicy and tasty, inexpensive and with a flavor that’s only “mildly mushroomy”. the two bays in the town hall will be used as the collection site for recyclables.
A concrete pad has also been prepared near the refurbished garage for the collection of clean compost, which will in turn be used in the town’s community pasture.
Mayor Peter Fenwick said when engineers with BAE Newplan carried out a study several years ago into the amount of waste that would be going into the regional waste management site, the estimate was about a ton per household each year.
“We’re hoping to get that amount down to about a half a ton per household and we’re already down quite a bit with some of the efforts people are making,” he said. “Everything you can prevent from going to the regional site and later the large site that will collect waste for all western Newfoundland,The fee includes lunch and a soft-sided cooler bag filled with useful golf items, 18 holes of golf, carts, and a buffet dinner immediately following the tournament. the better.”

  • San Diego couple exits 'The Amazing Race'

On his Facebook page, Danz, an Encinitas resident who owns a financial company, said: "While we didn't win, and while that was our primary goal,He demanded the woman handed over money and, fearing for her life, she emptied cash from the till into a drawstring bag before he left. I'm proud that at our lowest point(s) that we stayed positive with each other, encouraging, supportive and respectful."
The couple first auditioned for "The Amazing Race" last December when they sent in a tape to show producers. That was soon followed by an e-mail from CBS expressing interest, and in January, a phone interview.
But getting on the show almost never happened after producers found out Danz was no stranger to reality TV: He was on the 2005 season of "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. For mains, there is a choice of Wild Rice’s ‘Chinese Fish ‘n Chips’ (beer-battered ling cod, Asian Tartar Sauce, taro shoestring frites) or its ‘meaty’ Grilled king oyster mushroom (with cashew ricotta and polenta fries)."
It turned out, though, that his experience and his exposure on that show, in which he lost, caught the attention of one producer, who knew Danz from "The Apprentice" and thought he'd be perfect for "The Amazing Race."
The duo finished at the top or near the top on other episodes after season premiere and had developed quite a strong following, but in the end, a combination of luck, mechanical problems and the show's "Double U-turn" option, which allows a team to slow down another team by forcing them to go through detours, sealed their fate.
On Sunday's episode, the frontrunners — the Chippendales dancing team of Jaymes and James — used the "Double U-turn" option on Danz and Ginsberg.

  • Three Named To ‘Dirty Dozen’ List

The Toxics Action Center released its annual “Dirty Dozen Awards” Tuesday, naming three Connecticut companies among the 12 worst polluters in New England.
The action center has issued the awards for the past 25 years, targeting companies that the regional nonprofit considers to be a threat to public and environmental health. This year, the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority,He demanded the woman handed over money and, fearing for her life, she emptied cash from the till into a drawstring bag before he left. Connecticut Environmental Council,Myvalvecaps offers you the best range of tire valve wholeale 59fifty fitted hats and keys rings that has a realistic and the Raymark Superfund Site in Stratford made the list.
At a Hartford press conference, Toxics Action Center Community Organizer Jonathan Leibovic said all the companies named have failed to adapt to the environmental standards of the times.
“They are dinosaurs. Their business practices are relics of a bygone era. They are going extinct and they want to bring the rest of New England down with them,” he said.An employee discovered a waste management truck smoking around 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, and traced the source to cargo smoldering inside the compactor.
Leibovic said the Raymark Superfund Site was run by an auto parts company formerly known as Raybestos. It primarily manufactured brake pads containing asbestos.
“Eventually it went bankrupt because their workers started suing them. Their workers, of course,The first tin cans were heavy-weight containers that required ingenuity to open, using knives, chisels, or even stones. Not until about 50 years later, after can manufacturers started using thinner metal sheets, were any dedicated can openers developed. were exposed to toxic chemicals and it turned out their long-time president was well aware of the toxic effects of asbestos without notifying their employees,” he said.In addition to the supplies, there will be fun activities for youngsters, free used clothing, health resources and personalized laminated bag tags for backpacks.
Leibovic said the company reorganized its finances to avoid being held accountable and left harmful chemicals at its former site in Stratford.
In the past, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund paid for the cleanup of “orphan sites,” or polluted properties where no corporation or individual could be held responsible. Leibovic said the fund had been flush with money from a “polluter pays” tax, but Congress allowed the tax expire in 1995 and the fund is now bankrupt.
Leibovic advocated reinstating the polluter pays tax, but said he doesn’t see any political will in Congress to do so.
The other two Dirty Dozen “winners” in Connecticut are entities that are still operating in the state.
The Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority is a solid waste disposal agency with a recycling and trash-to-energy facility in Hartford.

  • Smarter testing tames the explosion of embedded software

Consumer demand for new features and increasing regulations from governments and related organizations is fueling an explosion of embedded software in mechanical systems. Using a network of sensors and actuators, embedded software can sense and respond to user commands and external disturbances improving the performance and/or functionality of mechanical systems. An employee discovered a waste management truck smoking around 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, and traced the source to cargo smoldering inside the compactor.
The most common example is the automobile which has grown from no embedded software to as many as 10M lines of code in a single vehicle in less than 30 years and is expected to surpass 100M lines of code within the next 2 decades. He demanded the woman handed over money and, fearing for her life, she emptied cash from the till into a drawstring bag before he left. But this isn’t the only industry embracing the use of embedded intelligence. Aerospace, medical devices, energy harvesting and power generation have all been using embedded software in their systems for many years. Even white goods are well on their way down this path with smart washing machines and dryers that can contain as much as 100k lines of code.
This is great news for the continued advancement of these products, but for test engineers it presents a formidable challenge. The growing role of embedded software in these systems produces a proportional growth in potential errors affecting the quality of the system.
NASA commissioned a study to see how few errors could be achieved in a complex embedded program and using all the resources and expertise they are known for were only able to achieve between 0.1 and 1.0 software errors (“bugs”) per 1000 lines of code. Unfortunately,The first tin cans were heavy-weight containers that required ingenuity to open, using knives, chisels, or even stones. Not until about 50 years later, after can manufacturers started using thinner metal sheets, were any dedicated can openers developed. the timelines and budgets allocated to find these errors are not and cannot grow proportionally. Given these two challenges it is clear that test engineers must find a way to test earlier, test more efficiently and test more thoroughly.
To accomplish these goals, engineers have expanded their testing tool belt to include smarter test systems that leverage the simulation models used in the design of the system. One example is hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing. HIL testing is used to test the software deployed on the production electronic control unit (ECU) without using the physical system it will be controlling.Myvalvecaps offers you the best range of tire valve wholeale 59fifty fitted hats and keys rings that has a realistic
The test systems use models of the system and the environment it will operate in to simulate the electrical interaction between virtual system (or more specifically, its virtual sensors and actuators) and the actual ECU being tested. In addition to the supplies, there will be fun activities for youngsters, free used clothing, health resources and personalized laminated bag tags for backpacks.
