Randel, a 10.9-second 100-meter sprinter in track and field, picked off two passes Saturday in the Hornets' 31-22 homecoming game victory over Redwood, including an interception in the end zone to thwart a Giants' drive late in the fourth quarter.

Coach Jason Searle: "I definitely think Brandon is one of the best corners in the league. He's fast and has that burst of speed that's so important at the position. You know what they say about speed, it never slumps. He's worked hard at becoming a good corner and he's definitely been able to shut down one side of the field for us almost every game."
