A tender was approved at Tuesday’s council meeting for the clean up of the Poplar Point Community Hall demolition site.
The lowest bidder, Dig-It Hauling and Excavating, won the contract with a bid of $4,450 plus taxes.
New conservation district

Because part of the RM fits in the district, Blight believes it is important for an RM representative be involved in the construction of the district.
Once the district is about to become operational, that’s when the Portage RM council will decide if it wants to continue its participation, Blight said.

The RM of Portage is still looking for a noxious weeds inspector.
Also, it has positions open for two mower operators. These are considered seasonal employment.
